It is exactly the kind of weather I thoroughly enjoy - so foggy you can barely see 10 feet in front of you! And every once in a while, we get short bursts of rain. That and the chill just make this day perfect! So far, all of my classes are looking to be enjoyable - I'm especially looking forward to my cultural anthropology class. Dr. Chiareli seems like an interesting character; I think he'll do a really good job of making this class as interesting as he is (and hey, we get to watch Avatar, so...). Of course, I hardly have any classes this semester, so there's a reduced chance of me disliking one of them. I'm going to look to add some more, but scheduling has been a real pain this semester, especially with basketball and whatnot!
Speaking of which, we have a game tonight. I'm looking forward to it, especially since it's against a tougher team! Hopefully we can pull through and just play really well! It would be incredibly exciting to win, mostly because I think it's safe to see we're the underdogs in this situation!
Well, it's about time for chapel. There are lovely piano sounds coming from one of the practice rooms (makes me miss Abby and Eliza). People are starting to trickle in - they just suddenly appear out of the fog in a very horror movie-esque way (oh hey, that's probably why I love this weather so much)! This is probably one of my very favorite buildings on campus, second to Carter, I think. I actually associate it with Covenant more than Carter, probably because it's where most of the events take place. I'm always reminded of preview weekend, especially watching Mountain Affair and Iron Man with Abby and then having pancakes (yum!) for breakfast the next day.
I guess it's timed to get scanned in! Let's hope the rest of the day lives up to the expectations the first half has provided!

Is It Thanksgiving Yet?!
Hello hello hello! It's certainly been a while, but no surprises there! Life continues to be as busy as ever. I love that basketball has officially started, but I'm having a really hard time keeping up with everything! The number of times I have wished to myself that I could just pause life for a few moments...but to be busy is better than to have nothing to do (I speak from having been on both ends of that spectrum)!
My Christian Mind class has officially ended, which clears up two hours each week. That's certainly a blessing! Coupled with the extra hour from daylight savings, I really have no reason to complain! I sleep like a rock every night, which tends to make it more difficult to get up in the morning. But on the flip side of that, the feeling of accomplishment when I do get out of bed is thrilling! Okay, not really, but I'll keep telling myself that...
I think I've been focusing a little too much on Thanksgiving. I'm so excited to go home and see everyone that I've begun to lose focus on my classes. Two more weeks is longer than I think it is! Especially knowing that this will be a pretty crazy fun road trip (with a pretty full car...), I'm just looking forward to it more and more! It's only for a few days though, and then CHRISTMAS! But I'm really not going to think about that now (pretty difficult with Christmas music being played everywhere)!
Technically I'm supposed to be studying for my New Testament test right now, but I just needed a break! only so much info you can cram in your head in two hours. And when the information is as familiar as it is, I tend to get overconfident and stop studying seriously: never a good thing! But I am going to try to get back at it now. Bring on those Pauline Epistles! =)

Remember Me?
So here I sit in the upper level of Brock Hall, experiencing a distinct sense of superiority as I watch all the people wander around campus. I really do feel like an executive of some sort with my big couch, giant window, and expansive view of the campus. Covenant has so many great places like this; I haven't found a favorite place yet, but I have quite a few candidates and lots of ground left to cover! And with the weather getting cooler, I look forward to spending time in the outdoor places too, instead of hiding in the air conditioning like a typically do!
These next few weeks are going to be insanely busy! Basketball starts tomorrow with a 12 am practice...not quite sure how I feel about that and I won't know until I experience it. I have been known to get a little weird as I get tired...definitely taking a nap this afternoon! It sounds like in the coming months I won't have really any down time. There's so much expected of an athlete! Technically, practice goes from 4-6:30, but I've been getting the impression that it's more like 3:15-7:15. I sure hope I have time for all of this! There's also a lot of stuff we do as a team: meals, sleepovers, etc. I'm looking forward to those. And I am looking forward to the season as well; I'm just incredibly nervous about it all!
Most people on campus are heading home for Fall Break. I'm getting a little bit jealous as the end of classes approaches. It would be nice to be able to see all my family back home. I guess I have been experiencing a little more homesickness lately, though Facebook and the weekly calls home have helped! Ah well, Christmas will be here soon enough and then I can see everyone! Aunt Julie and Uncle Bill will be here so hopefully I can see them!
Aunt Linda is going to visit her dad for his birthday this weekend (97 years old!!) so it'll just be Uncle Ethan and me! I'm planning on sleeping when I'm not in basketball, work study, or catching up on homework (so basically I'm not planning on sleeping...). I'd like to get a little bit ahead actually...we'll see!
Duty beckons (a.k.a. English Comp)!

My Favorite Time: 1-4 AM
It makes no sense whatsoever, but I am always most productive when I should be soundly sleeping. Today, I started cleaning my room at midnight. This baffles me. I know I'll be totally pooped come 7:00 when I have to wake up, but I just cannot fall asleep! Oh well, I suppose it's a fine time to update this blog of mine and do some social networking!
I have my first couple of exams next week. Feeling slightly unprepared, but I have some time yet to study so I should be on top of those come test day! I feel like this will be the first time I'll actually be able to gauge how I'm doing in my classes. I've really had no indication so far! I have a feeling I'll need to step up my game a bit. College is certainly more demanding than high school, but I don't think I quite have that attitude yet! I'm behind in reading for several classes and midterm papers are looming on the horizon! All in all though, I'm very excited to take these tests and see how things stand!
Hard to believe that basketball season starts in less than a month! I've been practicing a bit with the rest of the girls on the team and it feels so wonderful to be playing again. It's amazing how many of the "little things" I've forgotten, but equally amazing how it all comes rushing back! The hardest part is getting in shape. Once of accomplished that, I'll be less worried about starting. I do have to get all of my insurance forms completed, as well as get a physical. Hopefully I'll be able to do that tomorrow, though Saturday is typically not the best day for that sort of thing!
I received a fantastic package in the mail from home. Books, letters, pictures; it was wonderful! I hadn't realized how nice it was to get stuff from home; made me feel a little guilty about not mailing Abby more while she was here! The book was The Southern Rules. I have not had time yet to read it in it's entirety, but I've skimmed through it and am very excited to read it! Chandler read it and shared her thoughts with me. I laugh just thinking about what she wrote! She is too funny! I have a feeling I'll be sharing this book with many of my girlfriends here, especially those searching for a man!
Well, I think this was a wonderful way to wind down, seeing as bed is finally starting to call to me! Maybe in the future I'll be able to get my internal clock all figured out so that I'm actually asleep at this time of night! But you know, I do tend to march to the beat of my own drummer. If only life could accommodate me!
Good Night!

The Small Rain (Except Not Quite...)
Mmmmmm...this weather! It's almost as if God read my mind (oh, wait!)! It's just pouring rain! The skies are perfectly gray and cloudy. It's definitely the best study weather! Unfortunately, here I am, at the school, and there all my textbooks are, at the house...normally it's not such a big deal to walk down and get it, but I would be a drowned cat (maybe a little cuter) by the time I reached Carter Circle. So instead I'll update here, waste some time on Facebook, and then do a little Spanish review!
I certainly enjoyed my weekend. Saturday was a major lazy day. I didn't wake up until 10:00 (which is pretty early compared to my post-college Saturdays (noon or so...). I vacuumed the house and then just chilled; did a little homework and watched some random youtube videos that were recommended to me. It will take a little time to get used to the difference between Sundays back home and Sundays here. Only having one worship service is so strange! Eating lunch with Uncle Ethan and Aunt Linda made it seem more like what I'm used to though. It's much easier to forget that it is Sunday, but I usually just take a nap anyway. And then the weekend was over!
I have a two hour break now before my next class (English Composition) and I didn't have any homework for that one, so I really don't know what to do now. I guess lunch would be a pretty good idea! But I really don't want to go out in this rain! My rumbling stomach will get the better of me soon enough though. That's what umbrella's are for, I suppose...
Later tonight, I'm meeting up with my O-Team members. Every Monday night, we get together at the Blink and just hang out. Last week, it lasted until midnight, but I don't think I'll be able to stay up that late tonight! I had the best O-Team in the world (Chandler and C-Berry were just awesome) and I'm glad that we can still hang out and such! I'm considering baking something to share; haven't done that in a while!
Well, today's ramblings are finished! Time to brave the elements. Hasta luego todos!

An Introduction
At long last, I have taken the time to start a blog! I have no idea if anyone will read this, but that really doesn't matter to me. I enjoy expressing my thoughts, and it might be a good idea to write them down instead of speak them to the air. It's ironic that I would choose now, of all times, to get started, seeing as how I am the busiest I ever have been! College began a week or so ago and my days are packed! But I feel like that is all the more reason to start one. This will be a place for me to retreat when life is hectic beyond handle and to unload my thoughts (yes, I'm certain there will be some ranting going on here...).
Perhaps one of the biggest reasons for the delay in starting was the title. Those who know me are probably aware of my desire to be witty at all times and I just could not think of a title that I felt was pithy enough. And today I realized that I should go to my favorite source for information and inspiration: the word of God. And lo and behold, I discovered plenty of little sayings that I felt would be perfect for a title! The one I chose came from Job 32:18, but I also enjoyed the context, so I put that down here as well (please note that this is parts of the passage and not all of it!):
"I am young in years,
and you are aged;
therefore I was timid and afraid
to declare my opinion to you.
I said, 'Let days speak,
and many years teach wisdom.'
But it is the spirit in man,
the breath of the Almighty, that makes him understand.
It is not the old who are wise,
nor the aged man who understands what is right.
Therefore I say, 'Listen to me;
Let me also declare my opinion.'
Behold, I waited for your words,
I listened for your wise sayings,
while you searched out what to say.
I also will answer with my share;
I also will declare my opinion.
For I am full of words...
Isn't God's word just amazing! Not only did it provide me a title, but it also gave me an "excuse" to put down my thoughts: "Let me also declare my opinion", and, despite being "young in years" and "timid and afraid", here I am given permission to speak (or in this case write)! I also feel the importance of taking care in what I post. I should "search for what to say" and not post things I know I'll regret later!
Well, now I'm finished with my little exegesis. I doubt I will be doing that again (I can hear the "thank goodness"-es coming from my, as of now, non-existent readers)! From now on, you'll hear plenty of my opinions and lots about my day-to-day life. I hope that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it! Comment to your hearts content, and please feel free to correct any grammar/spelling/usage mistakes you find - it's good to know when I've messed up!
